Acceptance of any contribution, gift or grant is at the discretion of Tree of Life Foundation International. Tree of Life Foundation International will not accept any gift unless it can be used or expended consistently with the purpose and mission of Tree of Life Foundation International.
No irrevocable gift, whether outright or life-income in character, will be accepted if, under any reasonable set of circumstances, the gift would jeopardize the donor’s financial security.
Tree of Life Foundation International will refrain from providing advice about the tax or other treatment of gifts and will encourage donors to seek guidance from their own professional advisors to assist them in making their donation.
Tree of Life Foundation International will accept gifts of cash or publicly traded securities. Gifts of in-kind services will be accepted at the discretion of Tree of Life Foundation International.
Certain other gifts, including real property, personal property, in-kind gifts, non-liquid securities, and contributions whose sources are not transparent or whose use is restricted in some way, must be reviewed before acceptance because of the special obligations they may create or the liabilities they may pose for Tree of Life Foundation International.
Tree of Life Foundation International will provide tax-compliant acknowledgments to donors for property received as a gift. However, except for gifts of cash and publicly traded securities, no value will be assigned to any receipt or other form of substantiation of a gift received by Tree of Life Foundation International.
Tree of Life Foundation International will respect the donor’s intent regarding gifts for restricted purposes and the donor’s wish to remain anonymous. With respect to anonymous gifts, Tree of Life Foundation International will restrict information about the donor to only those staff members who need to know.
Tree of Life Foundation International will not compensate any third party, whether through commissions, finder’s fees or other means, for directing a gift or donor to Tree of Life Foundation International.
